Mary has spent her entire career in education. She has a passion for making sure that education is accessible to all and working with students in large groups as well as individually. She grew up in Pittsburgh and stayed to raise her 2 sons. Pittsburgh definitely holds a place near and dear to her heart. She attended the University of Pittsburgh where she received a BS in Mathematics Education and went on to Duquesne University where she was awarded a Masters in Education. Mary spent 35 years working at the Deer Lakes School District and 8 years for the National Math and Science Initiative. She has worn many different hats; teacher, department chair, AP Reader, instructional coach, and school leader in Pennsylvania and New York City schools. After retiring in June of 2023, she wanted to stay close to education and empower students to reach their fullest potential. She has found a home here at Pittsburgh Prep where she will continue sharing her passion for math with students.
