Keon Parastaran
Keon Parastaran is a graduate student at Chatham University, where he is pursuing a doctorate (Psy.D) in Counseling Psychology with the goal of becoming a child and adolescent psychologist. He earned his B.A. in Psychology from the College of William & Mary, where he developed a strong interest in learning, motivation, and human development.
Although a relatively recent college graduate, Keon has accumulated extensive experience working with youth in a variety of educational settings, serving as a special education instructor, soccer coach, private tutor, and academic coach before joining Pittsburgh Prep. He also completed an internship at a juvenile detention center, where he designed and delivered a summer enrichment class for the residents.
Through these experiences, Keon has worked with students from diverse backgrounds and learning profiles, reinforcing his belief that meaningful education begins with understanding the individual sitting across from you. Whether helping a student navigate the nuances of clauses and phrases or managing classroom dynamics in an SAT preparation course, he strives to create an environment where students feel both supported and capable of growth.
Outside of education, Keon enjoys playing soccer, exercising, practicing his electric ukulele skills, and exploring topics related to psychology and personal growth. He finds great fulfillment in helping students discover strengths they may not yet recognize in themselves and is committed to helping Pittsburgh Prep students reach their highest potential.
