Hayley Grossman, M.Ed

Instructor - Academics

Hayley is a Boston native and recent Pittsburgh transplant who has always been passionate about teaching and education. After graduating from Tufts University with her degree in Child Development, Hayley completed a masters program in Boston in order to acquire her teaching license. Prior to moving to Pittsburgh she taught middle school English in Boston Public Schools for 7 years and also coached other educators and worked as a curriculum consultant. Hayley’s favorite part of teaching ELA is helping to foster a love of reading in students and build their skills to critically analyze the world around them. While her passion for reading and writing undoubtedly fueled her enthusiasm for the classroom, ultimately the relationships that she built with her students were the most fulfilling and meaningful part of the job. She especially loves leveraging these relationships to help build confidence in students and cultivate an intrinsic curiosity that inspires learning. Though her area of expertise lies in ELA, Hayley has also tutored students and coached educators in a variety of subjects across a variety of grade levels. Outside of teaching, Hayley loves dancing (teaching dance in high school is actually what sparked her passion for education!), skiing, and traveling.
