Yvette Beck has spent her entire career in Education. She loves to create learning situations where students can develop both academically and socially. She believes that all students can be highly successful regardless of their background.

Western Pennsylvania is the playground of choice for her, her three children, her husband, and Sparky the Wonder Dog. She grew up enjoying the Allegheny River, the adventure of the Laurel Mountains, and the attractions of the Cultural District. She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania, earning a BS in Education, with certificates to teach Mathematics and Physics. After ten years of teaching experience, she went on to The University of Pittsburgh and completed her MS in Physics Education, with a concentration in Quantum Mechanics.

Yvette currently teaches at Deer Lakes School District and serves as an AP reader for AP Computer Science Principles. She developed a love for tutoring when her children and their classmates progressed through higher math. She loves that “a-ha!” moment when concepts click and connections are made. When Yvette is not teaching, she enjoys boating, skiing, beekeeping, and cooking.
