John Parker is an elementary and middle school educator with over a decade of teaching and tutoring experience.

His teaching philosophy is rooted in a holistic approach designed to empower students. Whether assisting with content comprehension, executive functioning coaching or test preparation, he strives to understand each student personally. This understanding, along with a primary focus on study skills, helps him guide students in cultivating mindsets and systems to promote independence in their learning.

As a teacher at the Environmental Charter School in Pittsburgh, he has the privilege of offering my students hands-on learning experiences in outdoor settings, engaging with content and questions in relatable contexts and supporting impactful learning. Whenever possible, he encourages students to make meaningful connections between their work, their interests and the world around them.
