Marielle Nogay, M.Ed
Marielle is an English Instructor & College Essay Specialist with over 14 years of tutoring and teaching experience.
She has a B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame, M.A. in English from Georgetown University, and M.Ed. in Secondary English Education from The George Washington University.
She has tutored and taught students of nearly all levels and abilities, ranging from middle schoolers to high schoolers to university undergraduates to working professionals. All of these experiences have shaped Marielle’s beliefs about writing, specifically: writing is a skill that needs frequent practice, writing revision happens best in conversation with others, and everyone can learn new strategies to write better.
As a tutor and teacher, Marielle believes in the importance of creating an individualized learning environment where each student feels supported and respected. She loves to help students set and then achieve their academic goals – whether these goals include mastering the techniques for writing an academic essay, strengthening critical reading or annotating skills, or successfully writing a college admissions application essay.
Marielle lives in a suburb of Pittsburgh with her husband and three young children. She loves reading novels, baking, doing crafts with her children, and visiting Pittsburgh’s many wonderful libraries, museums, and parks.
