Wendy Maata

Chemistry, Instructor - Academics

Wendy Matta began teaching chemistry in 1994 during the inaugural year of the Undergraduates Teaching Undergraduates (UTU) program in the University of Pittsburgh’s general chemistry laboratory and recitation sessions.   Although originally interested in forensic chemistry, the UTU experience allowed her to find her true passion, teaching chemistry.  She tutored and worked as a small group instructor until graduating in 1997 with a BS in Chemistry.  Wendy returned to Pitt to obtain her Chemistry Teacher Certificate in 1999 while working as a liaison between the School of Education and the Department of Chemistry performing observation and training of the new UTUs.
